Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) is an open university in Kota, Rajasthan, established on July 23, 1987. At present, it offers various UG, PG & Diploma programs in various disciplines at its designated study centres. VMOU Kota offers admission twice a year i.e. in the month of July and January.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to UG courses is candidates should pass 10+2 from a recognized board of education. For admission to PG programs, the candidate should complete graduate degree from a recognized university.

Candidates applying for the B.Ed, MBA and Ph.D. courses are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university.
Admission to the other courses including B.Com, BBA, B.Li.Sc, MCA & M.Sc is based on merit in the qualifying examination.
VMOU Kota also offers PhD in various subjects and Lateral Entry programs in Journalism, MCA and M.Sc (CS).
The application process is common for all the courses offered by VMOU.
For B.Ed, MBA & Lateral Entry courses, application fee can be submitted through challan.
In case of other UG and PG courses, the application fee can be paid via Credit/ Debit Card or through Net-Banking.
VMOU Kota UG Admission 2021
At the undergraduate level, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University offers a number of courses under various specializations leading to a Bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject. The university currently offers BA (preparatory program and pass course), B.Com. (preparatory program and pass course), B.Sc (preparatory program and pass course), along with Bachelor of Journalism (regular and lateral), B.Lib.I.Sc, BBA., BCA., BSW.
The course duration for the regular UG courses is 3 years whereas, the course duration for Bachelor of Journalism, B.Lib.I.Sc. and various other preparatory programs is 1 year.
The duration for Bachelor of Journalism (Lateral Entry) course is 6 months.
Admission to all the UG programs (except B.Ed) is done on the basis of the merit of the candidates in their qualifying examination.
In case of B.Ed, candidates are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university.

In addition to various UG programs, the university also offers B.Ed. degree for students willing to pursue their career in the teaching field.
- This course is offered for a duration of two years.
- The minimum required eligibility is bachelors degree with minimum 50% aggregate.
- For admission to the B.Ed programs, candidates are required to appear for an Entrance test conducted by the university.
The marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam along with the marks obtained by them in their previous qualifying examination are taken into consideration while preparation of the final merit list for the B.Ed. course.
